A Different Kind of Fall

Day 145

With today marking the first official day of Fall and our first full day in Washington we were excited to get moving. After we tried out our new Primus Coffee press (review to come later!) we rocketed out of camp and up a 3,600 ft climb.

From the way the weather patterns looked before heading into Portland we thought it would be cold. So it's ironic that the first day of fall was humid as he'll and we all had to hike bareback. The terrain was tough, but manageable.

Most of the day was filled with solitude. The days out here grow numbered, so what's next is becoming and internal and external topic. It's hard to imagine doing anything else while we are in the midst of this epic challenge.

Another big day leads to a quick camp. Rice and beans, some jokes, sleep.
