A woman named Nora gave us a ride to the Dancing Bones intentional community where we set up our tents under a giant circus tent on a platform. It would have been a 1.4 mile walk to the community and we headed the wrong way on the road anyway, so Nora really helped us out. This was the first time I have set up my tent on a platform and it worked just fine. The people in the community were nice and gave us free showers and let us use an outside kitchen with running hot water. They even gave us some pasta packages to eat. Thank you!

Earlier in the day a hiker named Long Shot gave us yummy seven layer cookie bars. They were so good that I saved half my bar to eat on Cube Mountain. There was fog this morning on top of Smarts Mountain and I'm glad I saw the sunset last night because there was no sunrise view. I slipped and fell on the slippery wet ramp to the privy this morning and hurt my right knee some more. My ankle is sore, too. Boo hoo. Poor me. But other people in our group have massive blisters and worse pain, so I think I'm still doing relatively okay. Today was our last day hiking with Blaze and Nice Lady. They plan to hike back to their car tomorrow. It has been a lot of fun hiking with them again and I'll miss them. Our Runaway Train will be back down to three of us, me, Eagle Eye and Toe Knee. It will be a new phase for us.
